Gainesville, Fl February, 16th 2002 Import Meet 2K2Pictures Available Here [ http://photos.lycos.com/s.asp?r=49vrdastsf6k90chk2iptqto38_308067 ] ------------------------------------------------------------ The meet may have started out rainy and dreary for the Tampa Caravan and a few others as we traversed the rain from an unexpected cold front on our journey northward towards Gainesville, but we were undaunted and as such came right out of the rain as we made it to the car show. Sadly, due to the last minute change of location and the conditions our caravan was broken up into 3 groups, but we all made it there! (Thanks to Bobby-NSX, Carl and Carl Jr-Classic Z's,RX-7, Supra, Matt Uber, Rob, Dru, Laura-300ZX's, Anthony-Maxima, and everyone else in the Tampa Caravan)
Once, there the Import Meet turned out phenomanly. We had over 100 cars, consisting of 300ZX's, Toyota Supras, Mazda RX-7's, Acura NSX's, Mitsubishi 3000GT's, Classic Z's, Toyota MR-2's, 240SX's and a few others. I think there was alot there for everyone to see, and from what I saw we accomplished intermingling of the groups. It hink this meet provided somethign a little different than our others of the past, as we were able to be party to the entire upper level import scene instead of our respected Nitches. Prescott, once again did a fine job of offering his professional Paintless Dent Removal services. Luckily, there were tents sporadicly setup to get out of the sun, and a few booths of patrons selling their wares. TTnets own Ric Quintanilla (HaloZ), Rob Maddrey([-TRM in TPA-], Vik Saini (Vsaini), Ash Powers(Ash'z), Carl Beck and a few others were offering repair help and advice as well. Overall, I would have to say it was a resounding success! Many, people opted to leave the show and attend the bracket racing sessions at the Gainesville, Speedway...where from what I hear the MR-2's were dominating the scene. Later in the evening after the individual groups had sat around and ate dinner, about 40 people met up around 11PM to go and participate in "Street Events". A few mishaps ensued, as well as driving around looking for the ideal conditions...but eventually we settled on a spot, and a good time was had by all. With, the exception of a few break downs, and a few other minor mishaps, like our location change I have to say the event went off ver very well. My thanks have to go out to Vik Saini and our Gainesville crew, who were intergal in organizing the event! My thanks also go out to all the people whom went out of their ways to drive to the event, and participated in the days activities. We hope to repeat this next year, and I look forward to seeing many of you again. As, far as our future plans for this year, we are considering a Dyno day in the Tampa area, a track day at the Bradenton Motor Speedway, and a few other ideas. If anyone in florida, has any suggestions or ideas, please feel free to email me Rob@ecza.org. Thanks again to everyone involved~ ----------------------------------------- Enjoy the Pics all 87 of them >>> [ http://photos.lycos.com/s.asp?r=49vrdastsf6k90chk2iptqto38_308067 ] -----------------------------------------
